An air pre-cleaner is suitable for many bulk materials to separate light and heavy particles. For this purpose the material flow is conveyed into a shaft through which rising air flows. The light particles are captured by the air stream, entrained and then separated from the air again by a cyclone. The heavy particles (cleaned bulk material) follow gravity downwards and can be further processed. In agriculture, pre-cleaners are used for many types of grain to remove light particles – such as dust, chaff and husks – before further processing or storage.
We supply standard air pre-cleaners with a capacity of 12t/h up to 200 t/h depending on the customer’s intake capacity. From a capacity of 40 t/h, the cleaners are manufactured with an air circulation principle. This enables high cleaning performance even with low air volumes. The cleaning performance can be adjusted according to the specific grain and degree of contamination. For this purpose, with the TWR/U, the total air in the system, the circulating air volume and the bypass air volume can be varied.
